Can I Increase My Website’s Productivity With A CMS?
Although the industrial jobs for America have largely gone overseas, American workers remain some of the most productive in the world. A website owner that relies on content needs a way to have his contributors get as much into the system as possible. Submitting content via a blog can take some time. Doing it by hand takes even longer. Having software that can automate the process and make it nearly automatic seems like a great way to boost productivity. A CMS system can fill this role.
How a CMS Can Boost Web Site Productivity
CMS systems do not increase productivity on their own. The authors still must work. Sadly, the one thing the CMS cannot do is write content for you. It will allow the user to group similar articles, set up multiple pages for each category, and to edit pieces of software as needed. Doing the process by hand takes quite a bit of work. Most people do not know how to wade through HTML or CSS code or to distinguish it from the actual text of a web page. Even a blog, which is typically not about more than one topic takes away this guess work. Writers who know some HTML or other scripting languages can make their life easier by knowing a few key commands.
When A User Can Expect Results from a CMS
When installing a CMS, a website owner can expect a transition period as his contributors learn the software. The most technically savvy contributors learn the system most quickly. Users who are not as comfortable with technology take some time to adjust. Once everyone learns the ins and outs of the system, including the administrator, productivity should increase. Increases in page views may take a little longer. Putting training materials online can help the process.
